The beginning of week 6, Monday through Wednesday was very slow for my progress. I was only able to play 2 games in those three days because my dad wouldn't let me get on much on those days. I wasn't able to advance in rank any in those days, since I lost a game and then I won, I stayed in Bronze 3.
On Thursday, I was only able to play one game and my teammates kept on team killing, losing the round. I was lucky to stay in the rank that I was in and it wasn't a major set-back. I really don't like that my teammates sell like that because it is a very long process to begin with to go from the bottom to the top, and the fact that my teammates keep on selling, making me lose rank is very frustrating to me. I wasn't able to play on Friday or Saturday because I was busy with things for Easter, even though Easter was on Sunday. I was able to get about two games on Sunday but I didn't rank up because I wasn't able to fully focus on the game because of my family and Easter, which is completely okay with me. This week was very slow and I didn't do much ranking up this week.

At the beginning of the second week, or week 5 of the genius hour project, it went by very very slowly. I was only able to get in two games on Monday and Tuesday. I had some family problems and I had to much homework to get more then those two games in two days. I was able to rank up because I won one of those games, but the other one, I wasn't able to pull off the win. My teammates didn't know what they were doing and my aim wasn't very good, but we were close to winning.
On the day in class that we have dedicated to genius hour, I logged all of my time and wrote down all I needed for the blog post. After that, I spend the rest of the time that I had in class studying professional players and how they play certain maps, objectives, and operators so I can become a better player and a better teammate for the random people that I am queued with when I solo-queue. Thursday through Saturday, I was able to get in a total of around 5 hours playing, and I got pretty far in the ranks, going from Copper 1 all the way to Bronze 3. I wasn't able to play any Sunday so I didn't get any time to play. This was a pretty decent week for progress and I feel pretty good about this. This is the first week that I've been starting this project, but it is the 4th week of Genius Hour. The new season of Rainbow Six Siege started on Tuesday, March 12th. That was the first day that I played and got my rank off to a start at copper 5. Every season, no matter what rank you were the season before, your rank gets reset and when you play your first game after being unranked, you start at copper 5 (the lowest rank in the game.) On Tuesday, I only had time to play one game that night, and I got to copper 5.
In this new season, there is a new operator names Deimos. He won't be released for everyone to be able to buy for a little while so I will not be able to use him until he is released. Right now, on defense, I either play as a denial operator, like mute, or a low maintenance character like Wamai. On attack, I normally use a hard breacher (an operator that can make holes and entry points through reinforced walls) like Ace, or a versatile operator like Buck, who is able to go through soft walls with his shotgun, or go through a reinforced wall with a hard breaching charge. On Wednesday, I got to play a really good amount of time. I was solo-queuing into ranked from the lowest rank, and then I knew it was going to be hard to get all the way to Champion. When I solo queue into my first few games, I was at the top of the leader board everytime, but we lost the first 3 games in a row. It really upset me because my teammates would always somehow lose the round. When it came to the 4th and 5th game, we won those games and it got me up a rank and really close to another, so I'm Copper 4. I figured out that Castle is a really good operator to use because of his ability. He can replace barricades and block off doors with his reinforced barricades. It really just matters the site that the bombs will be at. If there isn't many doors and windows, then castle wouldn't be as useful. On Thurssay I was only able to play about 40 minutes because I got home late that day and I still had to go to bed on time for school. I wasn't able to rank up today because I was practicing for about 30 minutes and I saw some improvements on my aim and movement and map knowledge. I was not able to play again Friday through Sunday because I spend time with my time with my family for my moms birthday. this week is a good start to everything when it comes to getting to my goal. |
